This privacy policy sets out why and how Remora, Inc., (“Remora, Inc.”, “We” or “Us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information of its users. Unlike traditional IT services, Remora facilitates the capture of subconscious data ("Dream Data") for personal insight and AI research. We act as the data controller as regards Your personal information.

We are committed to ensuring that Your personal information is protected in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our proprietary Neural Privacy Pledge.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information: Name, email address, and demographic data (age/region) used for account management.

Dream Data:

Audio Recordings: Temporary voice files used for transcription.
Transcripts & Sketches: Textual and visual representations of your dreams.
Metadata: Sleep duration and REM-exit timestamps via wearable integration.

Device Information: IP address, browser type, and operating system for security and platform optimization.

2. The Neural Research Pool & The Pledge

If you choose to join our Neural Research Pool, we apply a higher standard of "Privacy-by-Design":

Anonymization (The Pledge): Dream Data is stripped of all Personal Information and assigned a random UUID. We do not sell "You"; we license anonymized "Story Patterns."
Audio Deletion: Raw voice recordings are processed for transcription and then automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
Data Redaction: Our AI automatically filters transcripts to redact potential PII (Personally Identifiable Information) before it enters the research set.

3. Use of Information

Service Delivery: To provide AI-generated dream visualizations and psychological insights.

Research (Opt-In Only): To train human-centric AI models using anonymized, high-entropy dream datasets.

Platform Security: To prevent fraudulent "AI-generated" dream submissions and ensure data integrity.

4. Data Sharing

Third-Party Providers: We use Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for secure storage and Vertex AI for transcription and image generation.

AI Partners: Anonymized Dream Data may be licensed to vetted AI labs. We do not sell or rent your name, email, or contact info to third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal: Information may be disclosed only to comply with legal obligations or enforce our Terms and Conditions.

5. Data Security & Retention

Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.

Retention: Personal Information is kept for the duration of your account. Dream Data in the Research Pool is retained in its anonymized form for ongoing AI training unless deletion is requested.

The "Right to be Forgotten": Users may request the deletion of their account and all associated personal data at any time.

6. User Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. You also have the Right to Withdraw Consent from the Research Pool at any time, reverting your account to a "Private Vault" status.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
